Snoop Dogg has announced he is quitting weed but that may come with withdrawal symptoms

Rapper Snoop Dogg has left the world in shock after announcing he is giving up smoking… so what will happen next?

Snoop, 52, has over 82 million followers on Instagram and said he’d decided to give up “smoke” after speaking with his family.

“After much consideration and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke,” he wrote on Instagram.

He later uploaded a selfie and asked his fans to respect his privacy during this change. While Snoop didn’t state what kind of smoke he was parting ways with, he has become synonymous with his love of weed.

If he is indeed quitting his relationship with weed, it is likely he’ll face withdrawal symptoms.

According to South Australia Health that while there are “no significant complications of withdrawal” from quitting cannabis, it doesn’t mean the process is symptom-free

Common symptoms include anxiety, weight loss, disturbed sleep, abdominal pain, night sweats and tremors.

Despite the array of issues, South Australia Health explained that these withdrawal symptoms don’t “necessitate inpatient treatment”.

Snoop has a long history with weed and he has never been shy about it. The rapper told GQ in 2012 that he was even open to teaching his four children about the drug.

“It’s not that I would ever push weed on our kids, but if they wanted to, I would love to show them how, the right way, so that way they won’t get nothing put in their s**t or overdose or trying some s**t that ain’t clean,” he explained.

Naturally fans were in shock when he made the announcement this week. After all, this man claimed he had blazed up at the White House and even shared on a Reddit post that he has over eighty smoke breaks a day.

“We are officially in a new world,” someone wrote.

“Hell has officially frozen over,” another joked.

“Not smoking is the new smoking,” another observed.

Snoop has even invested in a few businesses that sell weed products.

The rapper has even had a personal brunt roller, Renegade Piranha, who popped onto The Kyle and Jackie O Show in 2022 to spill how much he smokes.

Renegade claimed that she went through about a “quarter pound” of weed per day but added it wasn’t all just for Snoop as she also has other clients that require her services.

“I have other clients as well. I work for Kid Cudi as well. I have a couple of other clients as well that I have as full-time clients,” she said.
