An adults-only theme park has opened in Tokyo’s red light district, where guests can be served by porn stars and enjoy private video booths featuring adult entertainment.
The five-storey theme park in Kabukicho, called SOD Land, has been designed by Japanese adult film producer Soft on Demand (SOD), which has dubbed it the “amusement park for adults”.
The theme park is only open to guests aged 18 and over, and each floor has a different theme.
According to local media, the basement is the “Newcomer Adult Film Actress Floor”, where punters are served by new and up-and-coming adult film stars, with food and drink offered at the bar.
The second floor, the Kakubutsu Salon, offers more risque entertainment such as erotic massages, while the third floor – the Famous Adult Actress Floor – lets guests talk and mingle with the more well-known adult film stars.
The fourth floor is the Silent Bar, where guests are able to watch adult stars mix drinks while wearing bikinis – as long as they remain quiet.
Only the first floor is reasonably tame, featuring a gift shop and photo booth.
Tickets cost 500 yen, or $A6.65, for 30 minutes, and guests will also have to pay for the food and drink inside.
New COVID-19 measures are in place following an outbreak in Kabukicho that saw dozens of infections. They include temperature checks before entering and mandatory face masks while inside.
The theme park isn’t the first venue in Kabukicho where guests can be served by adult film stars, but it is the first multistorey experience.
Plans for a theme park with penis-shaped dodgems and a vibrating cinema called ErotikaLand was scrapped in 2017 due the costs of running it.
